Homecoming Spirit Competition 2025
The Homecoming Spirit Competition is back — and better than ever!
Get ready for a thrilling showdown as SDSU student organizations and groups go head-to-head in a week filled with fun, energy, and SDSU pride.
Any SDSU registered student organization or group of at least 5 students can participate in the Spirit Competition.
Earn points by:
- Attending official ASUB Homecoming events
- Completing daily challenges
- Tackling spirited tasks
- Showing off your creativity on social media
Looking for an edge? Fully participate in all activities and spark strong social media engagement to unlock bonus points.
The student organization or group with the highest score by the end of Homecoming Week (October 26 – November 1) will take home the official SDSU Homecoming Spirit Trophy — engraved with their name and eternal bragging rights.

- Homecoming Spirit Competition Application Opens Mon. 9/8
- Homecoming Spirit Competition Application Closes Sun. 10/12 at 5 p.m.
- Info Session #1 on Mon. 9/29 at 4 - 5 p.m. in Templo Mayor
- Info Session #2 on Wed. 10/8 at 4 - 5 p.m. in Templo Mayor
- Kick-Off Meeting on Wed. 10/22 at 4 - 5 PM in Templo Mayor *MANDATORY*
Spirit Competition Event Schedule
Bonus point activities will be announced closer to Homecoming Week to keep the competition fun and spontaneous. All groups will have equal notice.
Required Spirit Competition Events (updated as of 10/16/25)
Sunday 10/26
Good Neighbor Clean Up
11 AM – 1 PM, Student Union Courtyard
- Time commitment: Full event
- Participants needed: 2 minimum per team
- Competition: Collect the most trash as a team and help clean up our community
Monday 10/27
Homecoming Spirit Fest & Aztecs Rock Hunger Kick Off
11 a.m. – 2 p.m., Student Union Courtyard
- Time commitment: 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
- Participants needed: 2 maximum per team
- Competition: Take on Simon Says: SDSU Spirit Edition!
Tuesday 10/28
SDSU Spirit Trivia
2:30 – 3:30 p.m., Student Union Theatre
- Time commitment: Full event
- Participants needed: 3-5 per team
- Competition: Test your knowledge of SDSU history and Haunted Homecoming facts.
Wednesday 10/29
Oh My Gourd! It’s Homecoming!
5 - 7 p.m., Student Union Courtyard
- Time commitment: Full event
- Participants needed: 3 minimum per team
- Competition: Strut your Halloween group costume and impress with your creativity and sustainability.
Thursday 10/30
HomeGLOWing Hype Night
7 - 9 p.m., Montezuma Hall
- Time commitment: Full event
- Participants needed: 3 minimum per team
- Competition: Choreograph and compete in a glow-themed dance battle.
Friday 10/31
Homecoming Relay Race
1 - 3 p.m., Student Union Courtyard
- Time commitment: Full event
- Participants needed: 5 per team
- Competition: Work together to complete the relay and race to the Spirit Competition finish line.
